I have run a variety of different trips to Penina, it has fantastic practice facilities, 1 x 18 Hole Championship Course and 2 x 9 hole courses perfect for all levels of golfers.. The seaside resort and village of Alvor with it’s lovely beach, excellent selection of restaurants and shops is just 10 minutes’ drive away, while the interesting towns of Lagos and Portimao are just twenty minutes from the resort.
Opening in 1966, Penina is the spiritual home of golf in the Algarve. The Sir Henry Cotton designed Championship course was the first 18 hole course to open in the Algarve has been a regular venue for the European PGA Tour’s Portuguese Open; a true testament to its impeccable quality. Conveniently for guests at this hotel, the first tee is just a few yards from the hotel, and the course is an excellent test of golf with tree lined lush green fairways, water hazards, bunkers, big greens and large teeing areas. The Penina Resort course, with it’s 9 greens and 18 tees is not as long as the Championship golf course, however it still poses as a good challenge to the best of golfers and complements the Championship course. The Academy Course works great for beginners and junior golfs new to the game.
A wide selection of rooms and suites are available at this luxury 5-star hotel. Residents can opt for Mountain View Rooms or for a small upgrade to Pool View Rooms that enjoy splendid views of the Championship course from your very own private balcony.

Welcome Drinks Party
You will commence your golfing experience with Lucinda with a special goody bag and drinks party to meet the other ladies and discuss the exciting golfing itinerary that awaits you.
Morning Golf Training Clinics
Lucinda will give you a great warm up routine, followed by special clinics focussing on all areas of the short-game throughout the trip as well as working individually on your swings.
On Course Fun
After a short break following morning training you will play 18 holes of golf focusing on your new skills and having fun with inspirational games Lucinda devises. She accompanies you out on the course with her famous iPad and provides fantastic action shots and videos of your playing to enhance your learning and understanding.
After Golf Activities
Lucinda ensures you have time after golf to have a well earned drink after the action packed day of training and playing. She also ensures you have time to visit the beach/pool/spa and organises superb dining destinations to give you a true taste and experience of the wonderful local restaurants.
